Why QwikCare exists: simple, safe, and prescribable COVID-19 access on iPhone.
QwikCare Covid Vaccine Prescriptions focuses on one goal: helping patients complete a legitimate medical encounter so that pharmacies can vaccinate when they require a prescription.
In some states, healthy patients now need a prescription before a pharmacy can administer a COVID-19 vaccine. QwikCare lets patients, parents, and caregivers purchase a 10 USD encounter using Stripe, complete a screened visit, and receive a one-year prescription when it is clinically appropriate.
What the science shows
Healthy patients without access to COVID-19 vaccines have been observed to carry roughly a ten times higher risk of death than vaccinated patients in key CDC analyses.
Large scale observational data from the COVID-19 pandemic showed that unvaccinated adults were many times more likely to die from COVID-19 than vaccinated adults. Ratios varied by wave and variant, but a ten times increase in risk of death is a conservative summary from early effectiveness data.
Vaccination has also been associated with reductions in severe outcomes such as hospitalization, ICU admission, and certain post-acute complications. No medical intervention eliminates risk, but the evidence supports vaccination as a key tool for reducing serious COVID-19 outcomes.

QwikCare does not change the science. It provides a structured way for patients and licensed providers to complete a real clinical encounter and generate prescriptions where they are required.
Why prescriptions matter now
- In some jurisdictions today, pharmacies cannot vaccinate otherwise healthy patients against COVID-19 without a prescription from a licensed provider.
- Policy and supply chains can shift over time, which can fragment access and make it unclear when a pharmacy can vaccinate a patient without prior medical review.
- Parents and caregivers may want a predictable way to obtain prescriptions for themselves, minor children, or dependents, so that pharmacies can vaccinate without delay once a valid prescription is presented.
QwikCare exists so that adults can complete an affordable, structured encounter for themselves and their families, receive a one-year COVID-19 prescription when that is safe and appropriate, and carry that prescription on their iPhone to participating pharmacies.
How QwikCare COVID-19 prescriptions work
1. Purchase an encounter with Stripe
From the QwikCare app, you use Stripe to pay 10 USD for a COVID-19 prescription encounter. Adults can purchase encounters for themselves or for minor children and dependents for whom they have legal authority.
2. Complete a brief safety screen
You answer focused questions about your COVID-19 history, vaccines, allergies, and relevant conditions. This helps the provider understand whether it is safe to prescribe.
3. Licensed providers review
A Lemur PBC provider licensed in your state reviews the information. The provider may approve a prescription, request more information by text or phone, or recommend in-person care if needed.
4. Receive a one-year prescription PDF
If it is clinically appropriate, the provider issues a digitally signed COVID-19 prescription that is valid for one year. A PDF copy is delivered into the app on your device and can be shown or printed at pharmacies.
For patients and families
- Purchase a 10 USD encounter for yourself or a family member using Stripe.
- Complete a simple pre-screen on your iPhone at a time that fits your schedule.
- Receive a one-year COVID-19 vaccine prescription when it is medically appropriate.
- Store the prescription on your device, and present it at a participating pharmacy.
For providers
- Lemur PBC routes encounters to licensed clinicians by state to support safe, jurisdiction aware prescribing.
- Providers see structured screening responses and can follow up by text or phone when needed.
- Prescriptions are issued only when they meet medical standards and are documented within the clinical workflow.
For pharmacists
- Patients present a signed prescription PDF from a Lemur PBC provider licensed in your state.
- Prescriptions can reference currently recommended COVID-19 vaccines consistent with ACIP and CDC guidance.
- Pharmacists continue to operate under state law, board of pharmacy guidance, age limits, inventory, and internal policy.
Pharmacists retain full professional discretion to evaluate each patient, verify identity, and determine whether to vaccinate in line with clinical standards and applicable law.
CareMap and follow up
The QwikCare CareMap is designed to help patients find nearby pharmacies and vaccination sites where a valid prescription can be used, subject to local rules and stock.
Over time, QwikCare will help patients understand where COVID-19 vaccines are available and what steps may be required at each location to receive them.
Data ownership, privacy, and Apple Health
- Lemur PBC does not sell patient data or share it for third party advertising.
- Patients control when and how prescription PDFs are shared from their device.
- Apple Health integration is optional and can be revoked at any time in iOS settings.
